Congratulations! TBS Wins Another Golden Bell Award! Thousand Miles - Talks About Music Recognized with Art and Culture Program Award

“The 59th Golden Bell Awards Ceremony” was held at 7 PM on October 12th at the Taipei Music Center. Taipei Broadcasting Station’s program, Thousand Miles - Talks About Music, hosted by Mali Liu, was honored with the “Art and Culture Program Award,” highlighting TBS’s dedication to the promotion and preservation of arts and culture, resulting in the well-deserved recognition of the Golden Bell Awards.

The award-winning program, Thousand Miles - Talks About Music, showcases the lives and musical journeys of international musicians and their contributions to the music world. It shares stories about their experiences teaching and performing in Taiwan, the humorous encounters they face, their struggles with homesickness in a foreign land, and how they formed deep emotional ties with Taiwan. Through in-depth interviews and mini-radio dramas, the program takes listeners on a journey into the lives of these musicians in Taiwan, which garnered high praise from the judges. They lauded the show not only for its profound exploration of the musicians’ life stories and contributions but also for its masterful comparison of Eastern and Western musical cultures, offering an international perspective that resonates with a global audience. From the thoughtful curation of music to the meticulous scriptwriting, every detail of the program reflects the team’s dedication.

Host Mali Liu shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Praise be to God. ‘Behind every journey that spans a thousand miles, there is always a captivating story of bravery.’ Creating a series that features 52 foreign musicians who have made Taiwan their home was no easy task. I’m especially thankful to TBS for giving me this incredible challenge, allowing me to finally hear the ‘ring’ of the bell. This experience has given me even more confidence to compete in both domestic and international awards, letting the world hear the voice of Taipei.”

Station Director Shao-Chien Hu emphasized that this award is not only a recognition of the hard work and passion of the production team but also a hopeful sign for the future of Taiwan’s radio industry. He expressed hope that by continuously promoting such high-quality programs, public interest in arts and culture will be ignited, allowing listeners to experience the depth of culture through sound and practice the true essence of art in everyday life.
